Into the deep
Ezekiel 47:1-12
Intimacy with our Heavenly Father requires us to step off of the safety of the shore, past the shallow waters of comfort and into the deep. He calls us to be “all in”. Intimacy requires us to surrender our will, our fears and our excuses. God moves powerfully in the deep and we will miss it if we stay on the shores. This teaching provides practical Biblical tools for hearing His call to come and follow Him and for the process of stepping out and developing a lifestyle ...into the deep.

When god writes your story: learning to discern God's will for your life
Everyone wants a sneak peek at how their life’s story ends. However, God does not give us more than the moment we are standing in! It’s as if our lives are a novel and seasons of our lives are the chapters. In this teaching we will focus on embracing that we each have a destiny established by our Creator. The seasons in our lives are like the chapters … some are amazing to live out and some are a challenge to complete. The key is to learn how to discern His will for how we are to depend upon Him and live... one page/day at a time. Practical Biblical teachings will focus on how to hear God’s voice as we navigate through each chapter of our lives.
Abiding... It's better than burning out
John 15
The secret to fruitfulness in life is to stay in the place of abiding (intimacy with the Father). John 15, the story of the vine and the branches, holds the secret for preventing burnout in ministry, in relationships...in life in general! In this teaching we take an in-depth look at the analogies of the vine and branches and draw parallels to our own lives. We will work through the areas of life that challenge our ability to abide, or as Jesus says in John 15 “remain in me”. This teaching will share practical tools for restoring our ability to abide when we have allowed ourselves to get off track. Finally, this teaching will lay out very clear lifestyle principles that will allow us to consistently live... in the place of abiding.

Treasures in the desert
This teaching takes us to the desert of Palm Springs. The Lord opened my eyes to some profound Biblical truths found in Isaiah 58:11-12 as I toured the desert by Jeep, learning about the large aquifer (water supply) that exists under all of Palm Springs. I witnessed lush green golf courses positioned next to arid hard ground filled with tumbleweeds. The contrast on the surface came from the source of water below the surface!
In this teaching we will discover how the river of God is for all of His children! Practical tools will be shared to help us discover how to “tap into” the deep waters of the Lord. Digging deeply to get to the spiritual aquifer is not easy and many give up too soon. His promise to His children is that, “he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Embraced by the father
Luke 15
We are comfortable with Jesus the Son, with the Holy Spirit, but for many, the image of God being a Father... just does not sit well. We feel like we need to keep God the Father at arm's length... or perhaps that He wants to keep us at arm's length. We are living today in a society where so many have deep wounds from absent fathers (physically and emotionally), angry fathers, or fathers who can never be pleased.
During this teaching we will take a close look at Luke 15 - The Parable of the prodigal son, an older brother and an amazing Father. There is nothing the Father desires more than for His children to enjoy a healthy relationship with Him. Oh, to be free to truly run with abandon, into the arms of Abba Father!

Loving him... first
Luke 10:27: You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.
This teaching takes a very familiar passage to most Christians and takes a deep dive into what does it really mean, to love God with all of one’s heart, soul, mind and strength. He wants to be our LORD, not just our Savior: Lord of our desires, our wills and of our thought lives. Easy to say...tricky to live!
In these series of teachings we focus on real life application of this important command by Jesus.

Authentic christianity: real people.. connecting to a real world... through a real god
Authentic Christianity… is like a SERIOUS magnet! Others can’t help but be drawn towards the hope inside of us! We are living amidst a generation that is seeking the real deal… not religion!
However, culture today tells us that all we need to do is to edit out or photoshop ourselves so others will only see what we want them to see. We are losing our ability to be real... with others, with ourselves and with God.
Jesus is the ultimate role model for authentic living in good times as well as in times of pain. His character and personality never changed. Authentic Christians needs to show the world how to respond in a godly manner amidst life’s pain. We don’t need to deaden the pain by clinging to idols nor do we need to depend on different methods of self-protection in order to avoid the pain.

Attitude adjustments for the win!
Many of our wrong attitudes and actions are influenced more than we realize by that which irritates us. This is a highly practical teaching that will focus on the following three topics that will directly impact the health of our relationships:
Scripture is full of very practical instruction for how to be victorious over gripping negative attitudes. When we apply what the Word instructs and we depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to change us, we find greater joy and freedom in situations that once brought us distress!
- Transforming the irritations in our lives into opportunities to allow God to transform us into the image of Christ.
- Yielding our perceived rights and expectations to the Lord so we can keep our eyes on the purpose God is working out in us
- Learning to accept others where they are versus assuming the responsibility that it is our job to change them (rather than God’s!)

refreshing your prayer life
Back in the 1970’s there was an ad for Kool Aid drink mix that emphasized how taking a swig of their punch would be as refreshing as falling back into a pool of cool water on a summer’s day. It was called taking the Kool Aid plunge.
Prayer was created by God to refresh the believer. The question for believers today is this: “how refreshing is our prayer life?” Would we describe our time of prayer throughout the day as full of life and refreshing, or still with logjams blocking the flow or perhaps does it feel like the stagnant waters where there are things growing there...and what is growing is not pretty?
This teaching provides practical teaching in the following areas:
Some come on in! Take the plunge!

- Learning how to meditate on His Word and incorporating it into our prayer life.
- Gaining an understanding of the “language of God”. How exactly does He speak to us?

run the race of your life
When we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we signed up to run the race on His team. What drives us should be what Romans 14:8 says, “If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”
In this life there will be HURDLES we will need to run over, PITFALLS we will need to avoid, and DISTRACTIONS we will need to ignore.
Our eyes need to stay fixed on the prize that is eternal. Our power comes from the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. God is calling us all to run well, to run hard, to run with power and to finish the race. This is a teaching for those who are willing to break out the new sneakers!

living within the veil
Hebrews 10:19-22
Jesus’ death radically changed mankind’s relationship with God. In Matthew we read that the moment Jesus surrendered His Spirit, the veil that separated the people from the Holy of Holies (the presence of God) was torn from top to bottom. We were given access, all of us, into the very presence of God!
This is a practical teaching of developing a lifestyle of living within the veil-a lifestyle that God Himself designed for all of us. This s a fascinating study on how the layout and the specific objects in the tabernacle outline how we are to approach God’s presence. We are free to live within the veil-free to enjoy the very presence of God Himself.

the resting place
Have you ever seen a video of a performer who is spinning plates on top of polls... and nothing is dropping? Just when you thought THAT was amazing, the performer jumps on a bike and continues to keep all the plates still spinning. It’s spectacular to see... it’s also exhausting!
Our lives can resemble that performer at times: too many spinning responsibilities and activities. Finding time to slow down and really listen to the Lord becomes increasingly more difficult. We don’t even know where to start...to find The Resting Place.
This retreat will help us find the way back.
This is a retreat for those who deeply long to find the Resting Place once again.

- Psalm 23:1-3 outlines how to be led back to quiet waters
- I Kings 19:1-13 reminds us that you speak to us in the silence

three spirits of a godly woman
The content of this teaching will not be found in the magazine rack at the supermarket. You won’t find it likely on the coffee table while you wait to get your hair done either! Today’s woman spends so much time, effort and money on being “the best she can be!” Once she achieves that level (that is, if she actually is able to…) , someone has changed the rules and she learns that she is already outdated!
The Bible is never outdated! This is a retreat that will focus on three spirits that are found in God’s description of a godly woman.

god will speak if you will listen
The Lord is our Good Shepherd and we are His sheep. In John 10, Jesus clearly says that His sheep hear His voice. It’s a promise...we ARE ABLE to hear the voice of God speak. Why then are there so many sheep running around feeling like God only speaks to others and not to them? How are we supposed to differentiate His voice from all the other voices we hear?

finding freedom in your female relationships
Women need strong healthy female relationships in their lives! We are created to care deeply, to lock arms and do life together ...and we all know that women need women to share their 9,000 words a day with! And yet… I am noticing that women are experiencing greater amount of angst in their female friendships than ever before. The amount of drama, superficiality and hurt feelings between female family members and between friends (in the church and beyond the walls) is increasing. More and more women are feeling isolated and are emotionally running on empty.

How fresh is your bread?
There is something amazing about the smell of bread that is right out of the oven! Folks are drawn to aroma and they usually show up with their plate and some butter :)
This is a retreat that draws so many Biblical parallels between your faith and bread.
